In the United States there have been many different anti-drug campaigns from Nancy Reagan’s ineffective and intellectually-vapid Just Say No to today’s Parent’s: The Anti-Drug. Francisco Santos Calderon, the Vice President of Colombia has come up with one of the most unusual anti-drug campaigns ever: Shared Responsibility. The gist of this campaign is that every time you use cocaine, you are destroying the rain forests. Obviously this campaign is targeting the recreational Green cocaine user, but it is an interesting concept. You can read more about Shared Responsiblity over at the United Nations University.

Politico’s Ben Smith is one of the many pundits and bloggers worrying about Barack Obama’s transition, specifically Sen. Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. He called it Obama’s first gamble. I’ve been taking the line of waiting and watching, trying not to pass judgment on Obama, let him do what he thinks needs to be done. After all that’s why I voted for him, wasn’t it?

Guest hosting The Rachel Maddow Show, Arianna Huffington interviewed Bill Maher who said it much better than I can. He said, “All I know is this, Arianna, during the course of the campaign, a lot of the times, we smart asses in the press would question or somehow second guess something Obama was doing. And it turned out almost at every turn that he was smarter than we were.”
